Faux, Silk or artificial flowers (please don’t call them fake!) have improved no end in the past few years and they are now often indistinguishable from the real thing. Fresh foliage or even fresh flowers can be used if requested. The decision is ultimately yours.
Faux are a better alternative for the environment as all items are reused and repurposed. Real flowers sometimes barely last until the following day and produce a lot of waste. A large number of fresh flowers are flown into the UK and are often thrown away. By hiring your faux arrangements you can be sure of zero waste.
Faux are an ideal choice for allergy sufferers plus they will withstand extremes of heat or cold and not be affected by the weather.
Faux flowers also provide that extra versatility and flexibility enabling couples to choose their favourite blooms regardless of the season. Peonies in September – no problem and no extra hefty charges for the privilege.
They also tend to be a lot more cost effective especially when it comes to large installations. Instead of limiting your flowers due to budget you can ‘go large’ with installations all for less than the price of your personal flowers and centrepieces in fresh.
Lastly if you think you may be missing the scent of real flowers then I have some ideas in that regard to. By using fresh flower scent or the addition of some real eucalyptus which adds another dimension and delightful scent.
There are many positives for using Faux or Silk but mainly I love them because they look great x
